The discussion about the representation of violence in the art is what drives the narrative of Solução de dois estados, a novel by the writer Michel Laub, published in 2020. Based on the development of this theme in the book, this article analyzes how the compositional sctructure of the story favors the construction of a performative narrative that instigates the reader to reflect on issues emerged throughout the story. To this end, the research is based on the study of reflective performative realism by Ravetti (2019), based on the panoramas of contemporary Brazilian literature by Schollhammer (2009) and Dalcastagnè (2012); in addition to the study by Pellegrini (2004) on literature and violence in Brazil.
