Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the different readings practiced by philosophers about the concept of “Apparatus”. Since it was coined by Michel Foucault, in the mid-1970s, the apparatus spread amidst the contemporary thought and became a key element for the comprehension of the institutions and structures that builds human society. We intend to situate around the present society and its specific apparatus, such as the archive and technology, some contemporary philosophers’
debate, specifically Gilles Deleuze, Giorgio Agamben, Michel Serres and Foucault himself, aiming to evince their different ways of thinking and understand our age.
