Post-modernity and information: complementary concepts?

Abstract

Starting with the concepts of science, post-modernity and information the article intends to provide a better understanding of Information Science, which is presented as a historically defined concept, with contemporary characteristics. Some elements are pointed out as an aid in the reflection about Information Science in the context of Brazilian society.
