Introducing the Technological Innovation Indicators of Minas Gerais.

Abstract

The objective of this article is to present for the first time the technological innovation indicators of the industry of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. These indicators were elaborated from the database that has been constructed by ANPEI (Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento das Empresas Industriais) since 1992, the only systematic source .of information about the technological behaviour of brazillian firms. These indicators are important in order to help the government in its decisions about technology policy, and should be considered by the firms in their decisions in the domain of technology management.
