Information and the organization models

Abstract

As a first stage of discussion on the role of information in organizations, an analysis of changes concerning organization models through time are presented from the point of view of the area of administration, including three approaches: total quality control, process reengineering, and knowledge management. This article originates from the fact that reflections upon organization models and upon information structure in the field of information science have not been duely problemized.
