The contribution of university/industry cooperation to industrial technological knowledge

Abstract

There seems to be a movement in the direction of an increasing cooperation between the academic and the industrial sectors in Brazil. This paper presents two initiatives in this sense, developed by universities, government and industry in Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the areas of cooperative research and human resources development, respectively. It discusses the cases in terms of their contribution to innovation capacity and access to technology in industry.
