Technological knowledge production at the Federal University of Minas Gerais

Abstract

This paper analyses the evolution of the interaction of universities with their external environment in order to increment local scientific and technological development. It points out that the feasibility of partnerships between universities and enterprises depends on managerial, cultural and structural changes. Strategies adopted by the Federal University of Minas Gerais to promote a greater integration with its external community are discussed.
