Lotka xs law: the Poisson-Lagrangian model applied to author xs productivity

Abstract

Describes the nature of the Poisson Lagrangian distribution as developed by Janardan & Schaeffer with specific equations for cases when zero observations are present in the data collected. Since in the bibliometric area it is not very commom to find data with zero frequency distributions, an application process of the Lagrangian Poisson distribution model is described step by step for this particular case. The application is illustrated with process data on literature produced by professors at the Federal University of Piaui.
