Zero truncated Poisson distribution applicated to authors productivity

Abstract

Describes the nature of the zero truncated Poisson distribution as developed by Plackett with specific equations for cases when zero observations are not present in the data collected. In the bibliometric area it is very common to find data without zero frequency distributions, an application process of this distribution model is described step-by-step. To illustrate the application, process data collected and studied by Gupta and Kumar on populational genetics literature, and published in the journal Evolution, are replicated.
