Production and dissemination of Brazilian statistical information: a qualitative analysis

Abstract

Based on interviews conducted with eight representatives of six agencies belonging to the National Statistic Systems, the study identifies the efforts undertaken in order to promote the access and use of Brazilian statistical information. The data are complemented with theoretical and quantitative information from other papers. The article also emphasizes the importance of qualitative research for applied social sciences, including Information Science.
