PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND LEISURE:
AN ANALYSIS OF PUBLICATIONS IN BRAZILIAN JOURNALS LICERE AND RBEL
Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate the scientific productions about the inclusion of people with disabilities in the field of leisure, in the magazines two Brazilian journals that study leisure: LICERE - Journal of the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program in Leisure Studies / UFMG and RBEL - Brazilian Journal of Leisure Studies, from the first issue of each magazine until 2019. The keywords “disabled person” and “leisure” were used. The exclusion criteria adopted were: publications in the form of abstract dissertations or theses, editorial, as well as articles that were not available in the online version of the platform. We found nine articles and by the exclusion criteria eight articles followed for analysis. From the exhaustive reading of the articles, two categories were established: social insertion and leisure accessibility for people with disabilities. Despite being a relevant topic, studies that aimed to investigate leisure and people with disabilities are still scarce, since in 21 years of publications, in the two Brazilian magazines were found only nine productions with the proposed theme.
KEYWORDS: Leisure. Person with disabilities. Accessibility. Social insertion.
