ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES IN THE INITIAL TRAINING CURRICULUMS IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN BRAZIL
Abstract
This study aimed to identify in the curricula of the initial formation courses in Physical Education the discipline activities / adventure sports, in Higher Education Institutions, public and private in Brazil. The research is of a qualitative nature and took place through the database of the e-MEC (website) and on the websites of higher education institutions, in the latter we sought the curriculum matrix or other similar document that indicated the disciplines related to the activities of adventure. The results indicated that 351 courses offer the discipline related to adventure activities. Of these, only 68 presented information regarding the menu, objectives and content that deal with history, concepts, planning, organization, practice of activities, techniques, safety risk, relations with the environment, sustainability, among others. It is concluded that the theme of adventure activities in the training of Physical Education professionals is of current relevance in view of the dynamics established between the elements that constitute it and the preparation and performance of this professional in contemporary society.
