The Lexical-Grammatical Change in the Writing of Instructional Texts for University Entrance Exams

This research has the objective of analyzing writing instructional texts for the entrance exams of the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil, in what refers to the years of 1990/1 and 2007. Our aim was to identify which linguistic aspects may be responsible for changes in these writing instructional texts. We based our work on the Discourse Critical Analysis (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001) that regards the ideological influences for the discursive formation, as well as for its transformation. Our sequence corpus is constituted by 71 writing instructional texts which were submitted to an analysis divided into two textual levels: lexicon and grammar. The obtained results demonstrate that there were significant changes in both levels.
