Evaluation of hospital discharge guidelines and its application to puerperal women sharing a room in a public hospital in Belo Horizonte

This is a descriptive study in which a pre and a post-test were performed. The data were processed and analyzed using Microsoft Office Excel. The analysis of the words collected was conducted through a word frequency test. 9 meetings were held to discuss the guidelines for hospital discharge. The research samples consisted of 92 patients. The participants were aged between 15 and 40 years old. Regarding the childbirth, 44 were normal deliveries and 29 were achieved through caesarean section. During pre-test, 9 women associated breastfeeding, newborn care and self-care with the terms "do not know" or "nothing" and 14 related the same terms with negative words. In the post-test, all associated words were positive.
