The objective of this study was to understand the actions of nurses in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the face of nursing ethical issues. The data was analyzed from the point of view of sociological phenomenology after obtaining the consent of the participants. The statements made it possible to understand the typical experience of nurses as people who seek to continuously improve the quality of nursing care; who seek recognition, professional validation, the prevention of damage and reoccurrence of events. Nurses believe that the participation of nursing professionals is essential to produce an educational process in the face of ethical events, through eliminating the fear of punishment and providing guidance to health workers involved in these events.Downloads
