This is a study of the "experience of nurses with the families of patients hospitalized in their professional world-life", based on the principles of phenomenology, using research of the phenomenon-based modality. The research was carried out in a hospital in Itajubá, a town in Minas Gerais. Data was collected using the guiding questions: "What is your experience with the families of hospitalized patients?" With this question, three categories were raised: "the world of the nurse-family relationship", "the family as co-responsible agent in the care-of-being process", and "family and the norms of the hospital setting". We hope this work will enable those interested to reflect on the interaction between nurses and families and the result of this relationship in patient recovery.Downloads
