Integrated management of waste from health services in the Baixa Mogiana Micro-Region

Abstract

The growth of health service waste, in quantity and quality, has become a worldwide concern. Because of the specificity, this waste has been given special attention, because if they are not managed correctly, they may bring damage to the environment and public health. It is a descriptive exploratory study, which intends to analyze the management of health service waste of the Baixa Mogiana micro-region. Although a minority of the municipalities have an almost ideal management, most of them are far from it, which makes indispensable the use of measured to clear up or minimize the damage.
