Methods of sterilization at health centers of Belo Horizonte

Abstract

This research identifies the sterilization methods used to the making up of the material on the institutions that attend to basic health services - Belo Horizonte Health Centers - and analyses the existence of congruency between the methods used by them and those preconized by the Health Cabinet. The core is an explore descriptive research that includes 117 Health Centers and collected data by a survey. Concludes that the majority of the sterilization methods are dry heat, steam at increase pressure and wet steam (pressure cooker) on this disposition. About the last one, there is no control of the quality of the procedure, what is against the Cabinet rules.
