Nurses' perception of prejudice in the ward: a quantitative approach

OBJECTIVES: This study aims to identify the existence of prejudice related to the nursing profession, to recognize the types of prejudice perceived by nurses, to describe who expresses it and to highlight ways to face it. METHODS: It is a quantitative, history-social and exploratory study, with 23 interviewed participants. RESULTS: Prejudice was present in several circumstances, including inside family context. The target group is of nurses graduated between 1940 and 2000. CONCLUSION: The research may encourage interest in new studies as well as deeper questions and problems that involve perceptions related to prejudice.Downloads
