A disseminação da arte gerada por inteligência artificial, ou arte generativa, está mudando as indústrias criativas. Este artigo discute questões tecnológicas, estéticas e econômicas da arte generativa. Apesar da tecnologia possibilitar novas formas de expressão artística, o status da arte generativa como arte não é certo. Defensores a veem como uma forma de arte não antropocêntrica, críticos enfatizam que a arte é feita por pessoas. A economia da cultura pode entender aspectos econômicos da arte generativa, entre elas a decisão de a adotar em larga escala para diminuir o efeito da doença dos custos; ela também demonstra que existe uma cadeia de trabalhadores e artistas que podem não ter o devido reconhecimento no processo de produção de arte generativa. Denomino essa propriedade de “visceralidade”. O artigo conclui que a arte generativa não sucede em criar uma arte não antropocêntrica por causa do fator visceralmente humano presente na inteligência artificial.
