Abstract

This volume of Revista UFMG focuses on the Evolution theme, which, in Science, refers to the Theory of the Biological Evolution, synthesized and spread by Charles Darwin since his On the Origin of Species, published in 1859. Many researchers contributed to build this theory, among which is naturalist Alfred Wallace, who, as Darwin, spent some time in Brazil collecting material and writing down notes that would help him understand the enigma of the origin of species.
