Reflections on the phenomenon of the crackland formation approached in the case study of Lagoinha, a neighborhood of Belo Horizonte, the capital of the State of Minas Gerais. Important for its originality, this older quarter of the city is remarkable for its cultural heritage, for the large urban interventions it has undergone, and for the process of decay it currently is going through due to the crack users’ settlement. The research sought to grasp the reality of the place from media representations and reports by its residents which are changed in their symbolic dimension, invoking the memory of the historic quarter important for its cultural heritage side by side with its new condition, as Crackland.Downloads
