Abstract

This article proposes an analysis of the perception of time focusing on aging. It aims to discuss the  articulation between the conceptions of physical aging process and the different modes of time reckoning. This approach is developed through an analisys about the emergence of the anti-aging perspective and the controversy over the definition of aging. The article emphasizes the preeminence of chronological age in the conception of life cycle in western modern societies, and the current tendency of separating biological aging and chronological aging.
