Abstract

Society is going through a challenging moment, with hardships brought about by the emergence of COVID-19 and the issues this pandemic has raised. This is not, however, the only topic that has been calling our attention and changing our habits, customs, beliefs, and affecting even the projects we have been dedicating ourselves for longer. Other factors are also involved, such as political, cultural, economic, and social changes that have challenged society, forcing it to seek new strategies and reinvent itself. The growing importance of technologies in our lives was without a doubt even more prominent due to the need for social distancing, in addition to other elements such as our immersion in social networks, the dissemination of fake news, the chal-lenges brought about by artificial intelligence research, questions about ethnicity, gen-der and religion, and environmental problems. Political, social, and economic analysis predict a highly uncertain future not only in the local level, but worldwide, indicating the actual possibility of a dystopic future.
