A grande árvore genealógica humana

A história da humanidade pode ser ilustrada como uma grande árvore genealógica que conecta indivíduos e populações por meio dos seus ancestrais que existiram durante as 8.000 gerações (ou 200.000 anos) de nossa espécie. Nossos ancestrais deixaram fósseis e artefatos do passado, além de transmitir inúmeras características físicas e culturais aos seus descendentes atuais, que compõem as evidências utilizadas por arqueólogos, antropólogos, biólogos e linguistas para reconstruir esta história que é tão importante para entendermos nossa origem.
