Performance indicators: an experience report from the USP Law School Library, Ribeirão Preto campus

The library of the Ribeirão Preto Law School at the University of São Paulo (USP) began operations in January 2008. Since July 2008, it has been using two performance indicators: use of the collection and speed of technical processing, proposed by the ISO 11.620 standard. The results described are preliminary, as the data refers to a period of one year and ten months of collection. The final considerations are that the use of performance indicators provides reliable information for evaluating and changing procedures in order to achieve objectives.
