Abstract

Recording the history of the creation of a documentation and memory center brings to light the history of the emphasis given to preserving memory in a higher education institution, and demonstrates the concrete actions of individuals taking on the role that would have been the institution's. More than that, from this rescue we can also measure the value of other information units, especially the library. More than that, from this recovery we can also measure the value that the institution places on other information units, especially the library, at different times in institutional life, as well as demonstrating that the professional librarian can and should take on challenges aimed at document preservation, memory security and the socialization of knowledge.
