This article presents Vitória, 5th song of the set Cantares – Six Songs for Voice And Piano, by José Maria Neves. The set is object of research of the authors doctorate thesis in the Postgraduate Program of the Federal University of Minas Gerais – UFMG, in Music Performance. The aim of the research is to understand its compositional process specially through the music-text relations and its implications for artistic practice, using the theoretical framework of the Russian philosopher Mikhail Bakhtin, particularly the concept of Dialogism, aiming at its performance and promotion.
