About the Journal

Revista de Música Vocal Erudita Brasileira: an electronic journal of vocal studies, a publication dedicated to debate, problematization and reflection on the Brazilian production of chamber songs, opera and choral works, their composers and performers. By Brazilian production we mean all vocal music written by Brazilian composers, both inside and outside the country, in Portuguese or in foreign languages, as well as music composed by foreign composers who lived in Brazil, ranging from sacred and profane music from the 18th century to vocal music produced in the 21st century. Its main mission is to disseminate knowledge about these genres in their many aspects. Its main commitment is to academic excellence.
