Abstract

Sjogren´s Syndrome (SS) is an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system compromises the exocrine glands, involving mainly the salivary and lachrymal glands.  Xerostomia is the most evident oral symptom, resulting in the dryness of the lips, tongue, pharynx, and consequently, discomfort to speak, chew and swallow dry foods. The purpose of this paper was to present a clinical case of SS, emphasizing its clinical importance and the need of an early diagnose, aiming to improve the patient’s quality of life.
