The study addresses the influence of patriarchy on domestic and/or familial violence against women. The research problem aimed to answer the following question: Does patriarchal culture influence the occurrence of domestic and/or familial violence against women? The general objective is to analyze the influence of patriarchy on domestic and/or familial violence against women. Using a quantitative-qualitative approach, with a descriptive-exploratory orientation and an inductive method, the methodology consisted of a bibliographic survey, data collection, and structured interviews with both men and women. The results demonstrated that patriarchy directly impacts domestic violence, which is also rendered invisible by men, as it was found that most women know other women who are victims of domestic violence and men who have perpetrated it, but the percentage of men familiar with these situations is lower.
