Abstract

Resumo: Através de uma breve descrição da evolução do Estado Social, com foco no Brasil, este trabalho procura fazer uma análise concisa dos programas de transferência condicionada de renda no Brasil e suas implicações, especificamente o Programa “Bolsa Família”, ante o atual contexto mundial de mudanças na Seguridade Social. Esse tópico se insere no grande debate corrente sobre as transformações do papel do Estado nas sociedades contemporâneas e a evolução e crise do Estado de Bem-Estar Social.

EVOLUTION AND CRISIS OF THE WELFARE STATE IN BRAZIL AND THE ADVENT OF THE CONDITIONED INCOME TRANSFER PROGRAM ‘BOLSA FAMÍLIA’

ABSTRACT: Through a brief description of the evolution of the Welfare State, with focus on Brazil, this paper attempts to make a concise analysis of the programs of conditional income transfer in Brazil and its implications, specifically the program "Bolsa Família", considering  the  current  global context of changes in Social Security. This topic is part of the current great debate about the transformations of the State role in contemporary societies and the evolution and crisis of the Welfare State.
