Abstract

Our studies on the curriculum reformation process in the physical education course of the Escola de Educação Física da Universidade de Minas Gerais (EEF/UFMG) ended by 1990, showed a recurrent speech about changes supposed to occur in such course. The issue is: reformation posed would mean affective changes in the curriculum? What can be called change? What does persist? How does this process develop? We refuse the idea of linear and developing change. Inside the studied reformation there are continuities as consequences of postures and views already present in the process of reconstruction and in society in general. Along with that other discourses occasionally arise in the area promoting changes, ruptures, as consequences of new manifestations of power in the focused field.
