Homero e a Questão Homérica

Uma investigação a respeito do entendimento de Homero e das abordagens de sua poesia épica. O foco é sua recepção no século XX, a partir da percepção de suas características que remetem à composição oral tradicional, observadas nos estudos de Parry e Lord. Os trabalhos desses dois estudiosos abriram caminho para uma série de estudos que investigariam os fundamentos do estilo e da composição dos poemas homéricos. Inclui considerações breves sobre a recepção e transmissão na Antiguidade e chega à recepção contemporânea a partir do final do século XVIII (com o trabalho seminal de Wolf), passando pelo XIX e tocando o início do século XXI. A partir dessa história das abordagens a respeito dos poemas homéricos, a proposta final é aceitar as variações da fórmula e da técnica oral e, sem nenhuma certeza quanto ao caminho que levou um texto da tradição oral para a tradição escrita, ler os poemas homéricos como poesia (com todos os seus recursos sonoros, imagéticos e semânticos) e como narrativas que formam uma unidade.
