Occurrence of inclement weather in far western São Paulo State, Brazil

Abstract

This article reports a demand received by the investigator from the civil justice, involving two episodes in which there were material damages supposed in association to inclement weather occurrences. The analysis of the daily cycle, with 5-min temporal data storage resolution, of the radiation fluxes in short and long waves, besides the also observed temperature of the air and absolute humidity, brings to light indications of the occurrence of gust fronts associated to the development and collapse of convective systems. Even if the wind was not measured, the incorporation of the concept of monsoon to the records made evidences the possibility of the research in climatology of the energy fluxes to subsidize judicial decisions, respecting the scalar limitations concerning the phenomenon.
