This paper is the result of the research, extension and immersion experience of the Research Group of Lagoinha that is conected of Indisciplinar Research Group in the Favela Pedreira Prado Lopes (PPL), which has been taking place since the second semester of 2018. Such investigations integrate the framework of research projects such as (i) TP - Popular Territories and (ii) Cartography of Participatory Budget; and extension, such as (iii) Geopolitics and Cities and (iv) Biopolitical Urbanism Platform. In this study, we aim to offer a perspective capable of entangling controversies and vicissitudes that arise from urbanization, gentrification, resistance of popular movements and the role of the university in acting in the territory. Mapping the region is therefore a suitable method for compressing the forces' diagrams, instruments and technologies of action present - and in constant tension - in the region of Favela Pedreira Prado Lopes. In addition, it aims to provide visibility to the genealogical reading of the production of the territory of the Favela Pedreira Prado Lopes, revisiting the history of the region in order to highlight important actors and events that impact the contemporary controversies evidenced in the territory. Thus, it becomes possible to emphasize the emerging contradictions in neoliberal urbanization processes while echoing the networks of resistance and power that emerge in the territory.
