Abstract

The study aimed to map scientific communication, starting in 1988, on public policies carried out within the scope of Brazilian Public Libraries. To this end, the publications available in the Database of Journals in Information Science (BRAPCI), Library and Information Science Abstracts LISA), Library and Information Science Abstracts (LIST), Base PERI and Scientific Elec-tronic Library Online (Scielo) were analyzed. ) with 36 publications on the subject under analysis. The publications were classified by pre-established categories and identified by a journal. They were also identified by the year of publication and authorship, in addition to identifying the most recurrent terms from the analysis of the keywords. Thus, there was a reduced scientific production on public policies within the scope of Brazilian Public Libraries, which allows us to conclude that this theme has been treated sparingly by the Postgraduate Programs in Information Science in Brazil.
