SOBRE A ORIGINALIDADE DO ARGUMENTO DO SONHO CARTESIANO

The aim of this article is to try to understand the Cartesian innovation present in the dream argument, clarifying his scope, his purpose and his skeptical origins. Therefore, it is necessary to compare the Cartesian argument and those presented by philosophers before him, in an attempt to clarify the similarities and differences, and understand how Descartes reappropriates elements from the skepticism. We conclude that the most likely Cartesian inspiration is Montaigne, and that this influence is most evident in the Discourse than in the Meditations.
