About the Journal
Revista Docência do Ensino Superior is a Brazilian scientific journal edited by Directorate of Innovation and Education Methodologies (GIZ), associated with the Pro-Rectory of Graduation of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The journal is a space for debate and reflection on activities related to teaching in higher education.
Audience: higher education teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students from different fields of knowledge.
Thematic focus and scope:
The journal publishes original papers, with research results, essays or experience reports which approach subjects related to teaching in higher education. Some examples of issues are: teaching and learning methodologies, development of courseware and pedagogical resources, assessment strategies, among others, in the different knowledge areas. The journal also accepts to publish abstracts of theses and dissertations, interviews and reviews.
History:
Launched in October 2011, the Journal had its first four volumes published annually in online version. In 2015 it started to be circulated every six months, in both online and print versions. In 2018 the Journal came back only have the online version, maintaining the semiannual periodicity. In 2019, the Revista Docência do Ensino Superior adopts the modality of continuous flow of publication.
Frequency:
From 2011 to 2014 (volumes 1, 2, 3 and 4) - annual frequency, online version.
From 2015 to 2017 (volumes 5, 6, and 7) - semiannual frequency, online version and printed version.
2018 (volume 8) - semianunal frequency, online version.
Since 2019 - continuous publishing modality, with a single volume per year. Online version.
Open access policy:
Revista Docência do Ensino Superior is an Open Access journal, which means that all content is available free of charge, at no cost to the user or their institution. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other legal purpose, without seeking prior permission from the publisher or author, provided they respect the license to use the Creative Commons used by the journal. This definition of open access is in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Archiving
Revista Docência do Ensino Superior is part of the Journal Gateway of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and is preserved, through electronic backup, in the university’s infrastructure. In addition, the journal is also digitally preserved in Rede Cariniana (Brazilian Network of Digital Preservation Services), which joined the program Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) for digital preservation of Stanford University, and in Preservation Network (PKP PN) under LOCKSS and CLOCKSS licences that provide free preservation services on Open Journal Systems.

Period for national submissions: from February 1st to November 30th.
Period for international submissions: from January 1st to December 31st.
