The aim of this study is to present specific aspects of data collection in adult clients. The authors analyzed seven specific publications in the period 1960-2003. The literature consisted of biological, psychological and socio-cultural aspects involving sexuality. As to biology, it is important to investigate three phases of sexual response: desire, excitement and orgasm, relating them to biological alterations. Sexual self-image should be included in the psychological data; whereas the socio-cultural aspect should include data on taboos, sexual beliefs and social and sexual roles, including sexual relations.Downloads
