Abstract

The study begins with the premise that in the complex societies coexist different rationalities that are translated in different ways of caring in health. It also reflects an effort towards the reconstruction of the practical of health must consider the different forms of caring. It detaches that the action of caring must make sense to the subject, helping him to go beyond the different stages of the human development. In this line of discussion, it was searched to apprehend the meanings in the way of caring in the blessing. The study was carried on the region of the Distrito Federal and in the State of Goiás, with six faith healers (male and female), by means of semi-structured interview. It can be verified that this type of caring is established in a ritual and its practice reflects a pedagogy of resistance. It constitutes a reunifying element in a plural society, where many truths, values and beliefs coexist, which translate different styles of life and meanings that complain attention when the proposal is to care.
