Abstract

This study has the objective of analyzing the health-mental illness process as a collective phenomenon and a social fact. The meaning of mental illness was analyzed in the aspect of social exclusion and non-citizenship. For the authors the madness experience demands that we should consider the singularity of each person and the social-historic universe from which this experience emerges.
