Abstract

In this article, we review the book The old Marx: a biography of his last years (1881-1883), by the Italian writer Marcello Musto, who is currently one of the main international references for research into the revival of studies into the life and theoretical production of Karl Marx. The book was conceived as a series of literary, historiographical and audiovisual productions that seek to rediscover Marx's analytical body of work, prioritizing research that is still unpublished in Portuguese, whose approach brings facts and curiosities from the life of the German philosopher, mainly with little-known information about Karl Marx's analytical forays into the areas of mathematics, botany, anthropology and other topics unknown to the general public, making a relevant contribution to the dissemination and appreciation of Marxist thought.
