Abstract

The review critically analyzes the book by the journalist Svetlana Aleksievitch - “Voices of Tchernóbil”. The work is built on oral history research with survivors of the nuclear accident in Ukraine in 1986, allowing for objective and subjective reflections. It describes the behavior of the population, of the government, of those involved, allowing reflections on the paths that must be observed hereafter, beyond the denunciations in the text - the generation of energy is a fact and social need, how to produce it today? The text separates human failures, lack of information and injuries to citizens; from nuclear power itself, leading us to conclude that the diligence of actions and respect for the rule of law would be a promising restart.

Graduada em Direito pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (Puc Minas), especialista em Direito Público com ênfase em Direito Constitucional pela Universidade Cândido Mendes, mestre em Direito Ambiental e Desenvolvimento Sustentável pela Escola Superior Dom Helder Câmara (ESDHC). Professora Assistente I da Puc Minas. Assessora de Juiz no Tribunal de Justiça do Estado de Minas Gerais, Primeira Instância.
