Mini theater of operas and the construction of memory from fragments

Mini Theater of Operas by Carlos José Villar is a model that reproduces the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, with an audience, orchestra, sets, costumes and puppets that make up reinterpretations of eight operas. The artist, born in Rio de Janeiro, in addition to making the dolls and the scenarios, also held soirees and events for the presentations in his home. In 2010, this material was brought to Belo Horizonte and presents an unprecedented collection of great aesthetic and cultural richness. However, restoration work raised questions about the preservation of heritage and the need for history and memory related to objects. This investigative work seeks to recover the readability of the work from the pieces and fragments of the operas represented.
