INTERVIEW WITH SIGRID FALLA, DIRECTOR OF EXPERIENCE ARCHITECTURE AT THE MALOKA, COLOMBIA

Abstract

In this interview, Sigrid Falla, Director of Experience Architecture at Maloka, Bogotá, Colombia, shares valuable insights into the experience of creating and implementing perceptual, cognitive, and practical indicators used by the Interactive Science Center. This experience has the potential to inspire the work of other science and technology dissemination projects in Latin America in relation to the impact evaluation strategies of their proposals. This talk shows that indicators must be adapted to different types of museum approaches. For each program, a way of evaluating must be established and, therefore, the difficulty of standardizing or unifying indicators. At the same time, Sigrid tells us the importance of establishing a measurable common minimum between the different actions, which allows comparisons and longitudinal studies. Furthermore, Sigrid highlights that, in addition to evaluating and monitoring, the construction of indicators also helps us plan actions and reflect on their objectives. Training in evaluation is another contribution from Sigrid, and it is important to train the subjects involved in the different areas of action on the instruments and evaluation culture, guaranteeing continuous feedback and analysis of each action and of the institutional set.
