Resumo

Este artigo discute o solo enquanto agente coprodutivo na prática artística e abordagem metodológica, segundo a produção artística de Onya McCausland (1971-) e Daro Montag (1959-). A atuação da matéria contribui, neste contexto, não só para a estética e leitura da obra, como está inseparavelmente relacionada ao conceito a ela subjacente. Opondo-se à conceção da matéria como tabula rasa subordinada à inscrição de propósitos exteriores, ela é aqui vista como variável e repleta de fluxos, resistências e tensões próprias. A produção artística que compõe a obra, é, deste modo, entendida como um processo de corresposta, correspondência e coautoria, entre artista e matéria, ao invés de uma imposição visual e estética pré-definida.
