The editorial of the special issue of University Libraries: Research, Experiences, and Perspectives highlights the strategic role of libraries in the academic ecosystem. In addition to providing access to collections, they organize information, support research, qualify scientific production, and preserve institutional memory. In a scenario of open science and digital transformation, editorial, educational, and cultural responsibilities are expanding, requiring management, innovative practices, and critical reflection on their social roles. This edition brings together texts that articulate experiences and technical reflections, highlighting the diversity of contexts and common challenges. One of the highlights is the article on online training in academic work standardization, which demonstrates how educational actions mediated by digital technologies strengthen information literacy, increase the autonomy of graduate students, and contribute to the quality of academic production. The editorial presents an experience report on the reorganization and reactivation of the journal at UFMG, based on diagnosis, planning, and implementation. The resumption involved the use of OJS, definition of editorial flows, updating of policies, and standardization of metadata, in line with the guidelines of the Journal Portal and the principles of open science. Finally, the interview with the director of the INEP National Public Library of Guinea-Bissau broadens the international perspective by discussing memory preservation and support for science, as well as challenges related to infrastructure, connectivity, digitization, and professional training. Together, the texts reaffirm the library as a space for memory, innovation, training, and mediation, stimulating cooperation and the circulation of experiences among libraries, researchers, and other professionals.
