If the practice of plagiarism by the authors is verified in the evaluation phase, the submission should be filed. If plagiarism is identified in an article already published in the journal, it will undergo a preliminary investigation and, if necessary, the Editor-in-Chief will request the retraction of those responsible and permanently eliminate the article from the journal’s edition. Those responsible for the plagiarism will not be allowed to publish again in Trabalho & Educação.

Those who meet the editorial criteria are forwarded to the double-blind evaluation performed by peers. The evaluators hold the title of doctor and belong to some national or international scientific institution. The names of the authors, the reviewers, and the institutions to which they belong will remain confidential throughout the process. The journal will publish annually the names of its body of ad hoc reviewers.

Peer Review Process

Papers submitted for publication must be unpublished in journals and submissions of texts that are in the analysis process of another vehicle will be disregarded.

The journal Trabalho & Educação publishes, above all, works in Portuguese. The originals submitted for publication, however, may also be written in Spanish, French, or English. The papers submitted in French and English – already revised in their language of origin –, once approved and being unpublished, will be translated into Portuguese, reviewed by the authors, and published in a mirror, that is: in the language of origin and in their corresponding translation in Portuguese. The articles in Spanish language will be published in the language of origin, in compliance with the Publication Standards.

In this process, the authors are responsible for the originality and veracity of the content presented in the works, and the orthographic, grammatical, and bibliographic reviews must be made before the submission of the texts for publication, observing the journal’s publication standards. A first analysis of the submissions will verify their suitability to these Standards, if refused the authors are instructed to make a new submission, if it is still in their interest.

The first author will be notified as soon as the submitted text is forwarded for evaluation. It will be performed without identification of the authors, by the analysis of two reviewers in the area related to the issue treated. In case of disagreements, a third opinionist will be consulted. A notification about the final opinion should be sent and, in case of an opinion conditioned to changes in the text, the author will have a deadline stipulated by the editor responsible for sending the modifications, considering the demands presented. This text shall automatically be considered non-publishable if the agreed deadlines are not met.
