Um poema do poeta alemão Thomas Kling (1957-2005), retratando o artista alemão Joseph Beuys, é o ponto de partida para a reconsideração do discurso ecfrástico atual, à luz da visualidade experimentada pela combinação do conceito da retórica antiga com as ideias modernas de imaginação, multimodalidade e performatividade.
